1. Introduction
Welcome to BladeWorks. By using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our services.

 

2. Services Offered
BladeWorks provides the following services:

  • Standard Service: Ice skate sharpening with a 2-day turnaround time.

  • Premium Service: Mobile, instant ice skate sharpening.

  • Product Sales: Skating-related equipment and merchandise.

 

3. Service Turnaround Times

  • Standard Service: BladeWorks will endeavor to sharpen your skates within two business days from the time of drop-off. However, unforeseen circumstances (e.g., equipment malfunctions, high demand) may result in delays. BladeWorks will not be held liable for such delays.

  • Premium Service: While we aim to deliver instant sharpening around the Aberdeen area, wait times may occur during busy periods. 

 

4. Condition of Equipment
BladeWorks reserves the right to refuse service for skates that are deemed excessively damaged, unsafe, or unsuitable for sharpening. In such cases, BladeWorks will notify the customer and provide alternative advice where possible.

 

5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must inspect their skates upon collection and immediately report any concerns about the sharpening.
Customers are responsible for ensuring their skates are properly maintained and regularly inspected for safety.

 

6. Payment Terms
Payment for all services and products must be made in full via our website at the time of booking, before skates are received or products are dispatched.
Payments are processed securely through Wix Payments. BladeWorks accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Cards, and Debit Cards.
Prices are subject to change without notice, but any changes will be communicated before service or product dispatch.

7. Advice Disclaimer
BladeWorks may provide advice on skate sharpening, care, and maintenance. This advice is given in good faith and based on our experience. However, BladeWorks will not be held liable for any issues arising from the use of this advice.

 

8. Liability Limitation
BladeWorks takes great care to ensure the quality of our sharpening services and products. However:

  • BladeWorks is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or accidents resulting from the use of sharpened skates or products purchased from us.

  • Customers acknowledge that skate sharpening can result in minor cosmetic changes to blades, which do not impact performance.

  • BladeWorks’ maximum liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the service or product.

 

9. Loss or Damage
While in our possession, skates are handled with care. However:

  • BladeWorks is not liable for damage caused by pre-existing conditions or wear and tear.

  • In the rare event of loss or irreparable damage caused solely by BladeWorks, we will compensate up to the fair market value of the skates.

 

10. Refund Policy
Refunds are not provided for completed services unless BladeWorks determines the service was not performed to a reasonable standard. In such cases, we will either re-sharpen the skates or offer a refund.
For product sales, refunds or exchanges will only be provided for defective items, in accordance with our return policy.

 

11. Collection Policy
Customers must collect their skates within 14 days of the agreed pickup date. Skates not collected within this timeframe may be subject to storage fees, sale or disposal at BladeWorks' discretion.

 

12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland.

 

13. Amendments
BladeWorks reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted in-store and on our website, and your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of these changes.

 

14. Data Protection and Privacy
BladeWorks complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is committed to protecting your personal data.
Customer information collected via website profiles on www.bladeworksaberdeen.com is used solely for the purposes of providing services and processing orders. 
Personal data will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill these purposes and comply with legal obligations.
